i have been googleing and trying so much stuff and have been failing.. anyone know how to turn a plan to a sphere? pretty much, i want to make the map, then turn it into a sphere via planet
If you really did google it, I wonder how you didn't find the numerous examples out there? Search for "morph plane to sphere" and I'm sure you find many tutorials for 3D apps. They might not be for Unity, but the basic principle is the same. Then it's up to you to find the techniques that need to be applied to achieve the result. Maybe you could implement that using morph targets in Unity, too. Just create them in some 3D app.

The Unity sphere has aberrations in mapping as it comes to the poles, as it is not intended for this use.
