Hi there. I've been planning out and trying to prototype a 2D game in Unity (sidenote: I'm using Bolt for this), and I was wanting to know how to make my pixel sprites work properly and look good, rather than the uneven pixels present in-game at the moment (it's fine in the Scene, but not in the Game). upload_2020-11-26_17-51-2.png
As you can see, many pixels are squashed, and there's even a weird discolor on the gray creature's brow, where it looks fainter/translucent. Below is what he is supposed to look like, and how it looks in the scene view:

I've already tried and done some experimenting with the Pixel Perfect Camera addon component, and while it does substantially improve the quality of the creature's sprite, it still has the imperfection on the brow, and now the background is deformed (plus it messes with the size of the camera, which I have set as Free Aspect and I don't know how to remedy this):

I'm assuming the problem is related to this error message shown at the top in-game: 'Rendering at an odd numbered resolution...' . I've tried editing the 'reference resolution' in the component as well as changing from free aspect, but the message and the problems still exist. upload_2020-11-26_18-10-14.png

Could anyone please help me with these issues? I'm still learning and am a beginner to Unity, so forgive me for rookie mistakes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

click on free aspect and a drop down menu with resolutions will appear

    set it to 16:9

then try with and without pixel perfect camera

remember that when you use the unity game view what you see is not accurate because the frame is small

always build your game and check if its actually distorted in the build with full screen
