I have game with boats (like stealth ones), and helis. Obviously helis needs a pilot, but how I should name person for second seat - navigator or co-pilot?

And about a boat - how I should name person who steer this boat - boat capitan? Or is there a better word for it. And second person in boat, should also be named navigator?

What do they do? If they're a gunner, it's a much more descriptive name. If they actually navigate, then navigator's fine. If they do nothing, then co-pilot I suppose. I'd just go with a descriptive name based on what function they actually have.

In helis (attack helis anyway) the primary function of the non-pilot is gunner or weapons officer.

Some organizations refer to the person operating a boat as the Operator.

I shall now introduce you to a website that contains pretty much all of the collective knowledge of the human race in one place.

    www.google.com

    Alternatively

    www.wikipedia.com

    Do your own research.

#Billy, You are right, and gunner is excellent word in my case, thanks.

#ANMATOR, thx, operator seems fine, but I`m not sure a player will understand it as boat capitan. But isn`t boat capitan to much big word for someone at small stealth boat?

@Knights I always do research before asking question on forum, but there are a lot of different approaches, and my English specialized in boat is very weak, so I can`t differiate between good and bad answers.

'Pilot' also works for boats, although the term refers usually to people who are hired to take a boat through a particularly dangerous passage on a short-term basis. 'Helmsman' is usually the term for someone with the role of steering a boat but probably sounds too archaic for your situation.

I would probably just go with 'driver'. It's a term that everyone will immediately understand and is descriptive of the role.

Driver, never thought about it! It is in fact good representantive word for his role. And also didn`t knew helmsman is archaic :) If so, You are right, this game is near future actually. Thanks!
