Physics changes in 2021.1?

    Hi all,

    I was recently posting in the Physics subforum regarding a really annoying, long-standing issue with spheres rolling over collider edges, you can see the thread here.

    After my final post I have been upgrading my project all the way from 2018.2 through several different Unity versions: 2018.4, 2019.4, and 2020.2. In all of these versions the problem is very apparent and the attempted fix I shared in my thread does basically nothing.

    However, as of 2021.1 the problem suddenly appears to be significantly less severe, at least in my project.

    I've read the change logs and don't see any physics changes that should account for this. So I was just curious if anyone might have an idea as to why the problem has been mitigated so much?
