I've been looking for something likek this in Unity for the best part of 2 years now. Are you going to release it as a system that everyone can use? I would be VERY happy if you did.

I like the traffic system. Will this be for a driving sim?

Just so you know, you can edit posts to quote more one person at once rather than triple-posting. Just keeps the forums clean.

good stuff. also great job with the environment.

does the script also deal with overtaking other cars (it looks like different speeds in the lanes is already implemented) or what happens if a car gets off-course? does the cars steer away / stop to prevent an accident?

It looks amazing. I hope you decide to sell it. I'm definitely interested in using it in my project. Keep up the great work.

I'm impressed!! Good to see that the cars even overtake each other when the side lane allows it(0:52 1:38). Actually I was planning to code my own traffic system until I came across this post.
However does your AI support two wheeled vehicles as well as right hand driving? Any idea on when this will be available for download? Hopefully it'll be affordable for the average developer.

Nice system. I would definitely buy it as well. Although I did not see any traffic lights stopping the flow of traffic. It appears like every intersection is based on stop signs, not stop lights. am I wrong?

Also I'm wondering if your going to implement buses and big rigs pulling trailers .

    thanks man!
yes, car can overtake other when neighboring lane free. Can also move away from the collision with the other, by steer or brake.

At the moment the traffic is based on the physics of the car CarX (www.carx-tech.com). You can not use it without a license CarX.

AI support any kind of vehicle, which is able to steer, accelerate and brake. Sorry, I can not yet answer the question of when it will be available for sale.

This video does not show the work of traffic lights, but they are implemented. All intersections are unregulated and cars pass other depend on priority and other factors.
Any kind of vehicles is supported.

    Here shows only the video.

    Thanks to all!

looks really great! I would just love to use this for several game idea's I had bouncing around in my head for a while!

But for carX - ouch, seeing that carX is quite expensive! I wonder if there will be any alternative version you make available, to get the traffic using cheaper (or even free) unity physics for cars...

I like the webplayer - I have been working on a traffic system myself, partially inspired by your work on this one. I hope mine turns out halfway as good as yours! :p

    Keep up the good work!

Thank you, but this is just a demonstration of the traffic, not the project.

Thank you, I've seen your work. A good start! I found a paper on the simulation of traffic, you may be interested in reading it: http://www.artifactgames.de/Resume/DA_JanKrassnigg.pdf

Question how heavy is this on the CPU and can it run on Android?

Traffic itself is not heavy for the CPU, it is well optimized and do not use memory allocation in real time. Also, it does not use raycast at all, only for the wheels. Overall performance depends on the complexity of the car physics. Traffic works on both IOS and the Android.

Demo updated. Improved response traffic to the player.

Romeo that document is great, read through some of it and its giving me good ideas. Have anymore links like that?

I suppose were both trying to create systems like the xaittraffic system, which Seems really cool.

Anyway, I'll check out the new Webplayer soon.

Hi, the way the drivers behave when you drive in oposite direction is much better, now feels great.

Hi Guys, Now is time to show what I do with this AI System from Roman Gipsle.

First, let's talk about the AI System, The AI System is very easy to be used, I bought this to gain time in my projects thats needs vehicles in the traffic. The AI System save me a lot of time in coding an very good AI like this.

Another thing is that Roman work very hard to make the system cover somethings that I need, and, He gave-me a very good and very quickly support when I need.

Here is a little video of the AI System working in one of my projects:

Here, you can know a little more from one of my companies, please follow http://www.simbrabr.com.br. (portuguese only for now), if you want to see my Simulators running, please click in "Videos" in my website, or, just go to Youtube and search for "Simulador Simbra" or "Simbra Simulator"

Here is a video of my Simulator:
In a real Truck cab of an Scania

In a real Truck cab of an VW

    Bye!

Ouch, $3,000 per project is far too expensive for me a fair few others I imagine.

I purchased the traffic system a week ago and it's nearly fully integrated after some days of work (in a fairly big street network). It works great, it does not need any serious calculation (it would definitely work very well on mobile devices) and the support from Roman is fabulous.

I made some screenshots from a very early version of our driving simulator.

Oh wow... that's one extreme price... perhaps a Lite version for the asset store :)

sub $100 mark would be welcome... this way you get more interest and entice those who really feel the need to upgrade.

But yes .. nice traffic sim.

I have to agree with Banksy, I would be a for sure sale at a lower price, but at indie level thats over my financial possibilities! Perhaps you could make a version of your traffic code, which functions outside of the car-x software, for things like edy's or newlifes physics, allowing you to have a much larger unity based audience (and some asset store sales), and not sell yourself short on car-x. Anyway hope to hear about updates soon regardless!
