Like the title says, I'm getting substantially worse performance after upgrading to the iOS Pro license. How is that even possible? Is there some Pro functionality that might cause a big perf hit that I might've had enabled but was being ignored with the standard license?

The only performance factor I can seem to find that could be an issue is the batching, but that shouldn't be an issue as none of my gameobject are tagged to use it at the moment.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? It's quite strange..

Edit: I'm using Unity 4.5 btw

Maybe compare the built-in profiler stats for you free and Pro builds, might highlight what's changed.

That's a good suggestion. Is there an easy way to disable the Pro license without unregistering the product?

Do a dual install with Pro and Free version, just change directory name, I have done this on Mac when comparing things. But don't get confused and take your time or of course there maybe easier way, but this maybe safer.

And find the file /Library/Application Support/Unity/Unity_c4x.ulf. Move that to your desktop. Then start Unity, and it'll ask to be activated. Activate using the free version. When you are done, copy the file you moved to your desktop back to it's original location, and your Pro version of Unity will be back.

You've not turned on occlusion culling, have you?

In some scenes, that can have a significant negative effect on mobile performance.

I haven't used occlusion culling yet but I had planned to eventually. That's unfortunate that it might have a negative effect.

So I did the free vs pro test and now I'm seeing roughly the same performance. It's odd because there was a noticeable change upon activating the pro version. I suppose it's possible another change happened around the same time but it was as if someone flipped a switch and performance just tanked.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I'll keep searching!
