Could you please spend some minutes to fill in this survey? This will help other developers to choose the right systems for them :D
Result will be published on Feb 13th
(And that would be great if you could share this :D)

tl;dr: Build a desktop unless you need portability. Buy mainboard with new CPU socket (so you can upgrade later). Don't buy lastest graphic cards - they're expensive, while old models are still good.

    Just for laughs...

But seriously. Carrying out such survey is not spam at all. In fact it would help others for sure.

The only thing which concerns me is why survey is not showing results as soon as you finish it. It could be useful for people who need info asap.

@alsatian - Survey is broken by design... the survey assumes that all developers need the same kind of system which is not true. Second problem is that the survey doesn't attempt to identify how much knowledge the person got with building systems...

I dont see an issue with doing a survey
That being said, just some advice, you shouldnt ask your audience to be this specific. Your asking them for exact details on specs, Im willing to answer how much ram I have, but I dont want to go through the effort of finding my ram speed and all that
