I hate doing UI but today i am kinda proud of myself!
You can now view your blobs in 3D in the menu and rotate them.

Technical:
It's done with a camera rendering to a target texture which is displayed in the UI.
All blobs and the camera are on a separate layer.

I hate tutorials so much... but i finally could finish one!
Below is a gameplay recording of the first battle tutorial which is about the basics of the action bar!

very interesting because there is some strategy that you need to care about, its not only attack like pokemon for instance. you really need to think and plan what you gonna do, it's very cool! I like the animations, maybe the UI, the blue backgroung on panels are a little strange, I don't know. but its awsome on general. Oh I like somuch the idea that the master come close to his blob to have a conversation and pass instruction, its funny, but later on game, I suggest to this master just yell actions, for evolved pets for instance, becuase they already knows to fight and need to focus, just my opinion haha.

Yes there is strategic apsect to the battle especially when you have more than one enemy and mutiple blobs in your team! Because of that i also do not like if someone says "Battle system like Pokemon" - they are different! Ithink the trainer getting near is really cute but maybe for variety i will later add also the yelling part. We will see!

 

So today i worked on two things:

1. Created a butterfly blob


2. Jade changes now her expression if you gift her something she likes or dislikes:

 

After playing the last tech demo some of you left me feedback that it's very difficult to place things straight.

I listened to your feedback and tried to improve it!Now you can turn a grid on and off and objects snap to it.

 

I'm working on the 3rd tech demo.
For that i added some new expressions to Jade and Ruby!

Really many people wanted to be able to play as a female character. So i added the feature this weekend

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays!
Inspired by it i created the Spooky Moon Festival in Ova Magica!

You can collect candy and trade it for cool prices! But be careful! The town is also overrun by wild blobs...

So bug catching can be challenging in Ova Magica!
A son of one of my twitter followers had a very nice idea:

"If the pets could help catching insects, that would be really handy"

So i implemented the new blob ability "Sound wave". It confuses insects so they dont escape when you approach.

Day 1: Cow blob
It's not very strong in battle, but it can produce fresh milk.




Day 2: Penguin blob
This friendly, but also a little clumsy blob, feels most comfortable in the winter season Frigus.

 

I added the new blob ability "Stomp".
Now it is much easier to hoe all the soil.
