Particle trails are jagged

    Please check out the attached screenshot. For many of our particle effects, zooming into them you can see the trails are rendered in a weird kind of tesselated way and the result appears jagged. I have tried smaller vertex distance but that doesn't solve the problem.

    Is there a way around this? Perhaps it's the type of trail texture I'm using?

    Fixed it! Turns out the jagged effect is most pronounced toward the center of the verts, so changing the white part of the texture to mostly fill the frame and just blur at the edges, then turning down the width of the particle trail did the trick.

    I think this can happen when the width of the trail changes along its length.
    We are working on improving this for Unity 2022.

    Glad you found a workaround!

    Also - it's good to avoid having large areas of transparent geometry anyway, so you are right to fill the texture space and reduce the width. Those large transparent areas would hurt your GPU performance.
