I'm creating a fantasy pixel art game, and it would be great to use some particle effects. I've had a look in the Asset store and there's lots of great particle plugins available but none of them seem right for a pixel art game. Does anyone know of any assets that would work for a pixel art game? or if there's a good way to create them yourself?

What kind of effects do you need?

You can easily assign sprite / sprite sheet to shuriken particle system,
create new material, assign sprite/sprite sheet to it, set as particle or sprite shader, assign material to Particle system renderer. (and adjust texture sheet animation options if needed)

Explosions, smokes, fire, ice the usuals :) what would be great would be an plugin where I can change some values and it gives me different pixel particles also through scripting if possible. I found a plugin called "Basic Pixel Art Particles" and it's nice but I'm not sure I can do enough with it.

I'm aware I could code all of this the way you suggested but just wondered if there were any plugins to save me the trouble.
