Question Particle Strip quad overlap issue

Hi there,
I'm trying to make a smoke streak effect coming out of a gun barrel. I'm outputting particles in world space, but the strip itself has a nasty overlap that I'm not sure how to fix. Changing the blending modes does not help much. Here is a video of the problem :
