I was wondering if there is a way to make individual particles rotate around their origin, I want to make my billboards spin around the Z axis without using particle animation. :)

Oh, good grief! Why not? :)

This is basic, but it can really add to visual polish. Please add this to the engine, UT!!

Sorry to Necro-bump this, but is it still not possible to rotate individual particles?

    No, I'm afraid not. :(

You can make a particle appear to rotate by animating it, but you cannot rotate the actual quad.

Those little quads are crying out for rotation! They long for the freedom to spin without oppression!

Please, Unity Developers, FREE THE PARTICLE QUADS!

It has already been requested on the Wish List forum multiple times. We are aware that people want this and agree this would be useful.

    Hi!

I agree with thecratix, this feature would be really a must to add some interesting random effects in our particles.

Since it's in the wish list features, do you guys know, by any chances, when it could be released?

    Thanx to let me know!

I said that we are aware that it has been requested by users in the Wish List forum. We have not made any commitments to this feature.

It's a basic feature that's been on every other particle creation system that I've used... just wondering, is there some issue with the way particles were implemented in Unity that makes this feature difficult to add?

    thanks,

    scott

Only that we're all working on different stuff that is also important. Really, we *would* like to implement this at some point.

i have yet to make the particle effect where i "DONT" want to rotate the billboards :D ( i have been making particle fx for over 7 years )

everything you do form water splashes to sand storms to fiery explosions everything wants rotation.

so +1 for wanting this :D

We can't really keep track of everybody who writes "+1" in these forums.

Would it be possible to make a script component to rotate the UV's?
