    Hi,
I'm making MMO game of Parkour & Free Running. In feature it must be quite unique game. As I know there aren't any pure parkour games, especially MMO ones. For now It's in a very early stage, but you already can play online and challenge other players/friends in side by side running.

    Instructions & download link:
    https://tkstudio.ninja/portfolio/#!mg_ld=450

It's alpha version and there will be funny bugs :)

    FB page:

In feature you’ll be able to create your own characters, make them tall or small, athletic or fat, dress them as you wish with different style of shirts, trousers, shoes and accessories, interact with other players and challenge them in side by side running from point A to B in many different levels.

Player's level will increase when player wins the challenge, gets new clothes or learns tricks. Special clothes, accessories and tricks will be possible to buy with coins, which you exchange in real money or win in challenge. Each cloth will increase some type of abilities. Player will have speed, flexibility, stamina and strength values. High level players will have access to higher rating clothes, accessories and tricks.

The winner of challenge will be determined by points. Player will be given different points for different tricks, harder ones will give more points, but main goal will be finishing first, it'll give much more points then any other trick. The winner will be awarded with coins and his/her level will increase. If player crashes, of course he/she looses.

These are basic features which will be implemented definitely, more features will come along. Stay tuned!

Ok, when I read the thread title I was sure this was gonna land among the army of would be games that were overly ambitious mash ups - however it looks like you've got some good work done so far! Keep it up, I hope it turns out as cool as the idea sounds.

Hey, love the concept and it looks nice! i just have some constructive feedback to post, that immediately popped into my head when i saw the trailer. I know its Alpha and theres probably alot of work ahead of you.

But something i noticed was, with the dive roll, that the character just lands straight on its neck? theres no absorbing the fall with the arms, it just jumps and lands on the neck, it looks kinda off.

Also another thing, the different moves doesnt seem to connect very well with the environment, like he stops up and executes it, it misses flow, which makes it look weird.

But with that said ill admit i have a huge respect for doing this kind of thing, im not doing 3d for a reason and thats the huge amount of work it takes to do all the animations and setting up the environment and stuff, so huge respect for that!

i wish u all the best of luck with the project and hope you finish it cause i would love to play it!

Yeah, it's really ambitious project, but I think my 6 years experience in Unity is enough to achieve what I have in mind :)
    Thanks for support ;)

Feedbacks are welcome, that's why I post everywhere, I need many many feedbacks to shape the project from start and make it community's lovely game, add there features/abilities the users/players want.

Yes, for now I'm using unity's mocap animations, in feature everything will be refined step by step. I'll record real parkour guys movements. This is just to show the idea, for now there are ton of bugs, like walking in air, stuck in walls, :)
physics sometimes goes weird and when player crashes throws outside of map, etc. but it's better for me to share it in this stage to get feedback and support. I'll add updates periodically, will try to satisfy players requirements.
Thanks for feedback & support ;)

    parkour championship.jpg

    Hi guys,
    We'll have small championship.

People who will be able to record their gameplay and upload on Youtube with name like:
TK's Parkour [your name] VS [opponent name]
are eligible to enter the championship.

For now only first 20 comments authors on Facebook post.
    Link to the post

Players who won't have recorded gameplay video will be eliminated.

Winner will get his/her face and own customized t-shirt on their character.

After the members will be known, we'll set convenient time for both side when they must challenge each-other.

    Best regards ;)

Hey temo_koki - just wanted to chime in and thank you for not making this a first person game. I'm honestly bewildered how any parkour type games can be successful using a first person view, since actually witnessing the bodies motion, fluidity and gracefulness is one of the main appeals of parkour.
I guess having that quasi feeling of height and danger in first person view while performing parkour running may be interesting, but I find seeing the athletes/actors/players perform the moves in a game like this much more appealing.

From watching the video - all the locomotion and animations look a little too slow to be fun. I think by increasing the speed it would increase the fun.

    Look forward to new updates.

    Hi,
Yeah, I think so too, that seeing motion is more appealing, also I agree that both types/styles have their uniqueness and because of that in upcoming updates we'll have both type of cameras/views, player will choose whatever they like. ;)

Few other people said same about animations, for me it looked realistic :)
I'll compare those animations to real videos and adjust speed on them.

    Thanks for feedback ;)

I agree the animations do look realistic - but as we all know pushing past realism while staying grounded in realism increases fun for the players.
I was just mentioning - it might increase fun if the speed is increased, going beyond realism, but maybe increasing enjoyment. Play testing can definitely give direction if this is true or not.

Yeah, it needs more testing. I haven't compared those animations to real videos yet, so may be they are slow compared to real movements. If that's true than I need 100% increase the speed, if not, I need more testing to see what's better.
Yes, I agree, game is about to have fun, so increasing enjoyment is better than realism.
