    PANGAEA Terraform - New ARTnGAME GPU based terrain formation tool.

    UPDATE:
    Added passing of an existing Unity terrain heightmap to the Mesh terrain, can be used directly in Mesh terrain mode and edited further with GPU on Mesh and than pass back to Unity terrain.

    Also added few more features in the run time demo and refined it further.

    UPDATE: The standalone demo version has now been exported succesfully and fully works in real time in build.

    The new 3d Noise system has now been integrated in the run time demo and will available for testing soon.

    PANGAEA Terraform - New ARTnGAME GPU based terrain formation tool.

    Added stamping of the shader based GPU solution to Mesh terrain and collider creation, for supporting collisions and physics, also added demo with physics applied to the terrain with cubes collision on its collider.

    PANGAEA will be compatible with Sky Master ULTIMATE and InfiniGRASS Studio (v2.0)

    Update:

    The splat mapping solution base for the system is now ready and currently beeing adapted to do run time splatting for the upcoming real time demo. Run time splat mapping is planned to be a feature of PRO version.

    The town generator module of the PANGAEA PRO version will also be included in the real time demo, the module creates realistic town arrangements and adapts prefabs to the layout, after that is possible to extend the walls and towers or add fences with a fence-wall creation system that connects walls in sequencial mouse clicks and also apply wall mesh and spread details on its path using splines

    This is a very first early version of the demo, so a lot more is to be refined, added and tweaked, but is a first idea of the various systems.

    I will post a new version asap with more refinements as well. The demo includes some of the PANGAEA Pro version systems as well (Splines, 3D Noise, City generator etc)

    Testing the new forest generator and impostors system for far away tree simplification. The system has also been added in the run time demo.

    HDRP shader WIP for the editor and mesh terrain option, added roads and fields texture option with control over application region. The shader is based on shader graph and has now been tested and working in URP as well.

    PANGAEA Terraform - New ARTnGAME GPU based terrain formation tool.

    New 3D noise module, can be stamped directly to mesh terrain and changed at run time

    This will be a PANGAEA PRO feature and the plan is to also enable creation of rock formations with cavities if possible and low poly style terrains.

    PANGAEA will be compatible with Sky Master ULTIMATE and InfiniGRASS Studio (v2.0).

    UPDATE:

    The current work on pipelines has nearly finished, now all URP - HDRP and Standard pipeline can be in the same project, i have added materials for use on all pipelines and thus wont need to keep separate projects if need to be cross pipeline.

    Also have finished namespacing of all scripts and done a few further refinements to the terrain painting and painting area preview.

    UPDATE:

    I have now completed the system that can drop all the state textures in the assets, so can be reloaded and save disk space or inserted in another scene maps for editing in different ways. Also the system allows a complete clean up of the scene, keeping only the name of the saved textures to reload as needed. This way scene is reduced from 1GB+ to only 1MB (with around 60MB saved textures for medium work texture resolution).

    UPDATE:

    The save textures to disk system has now been fully finalized, can save all state to disk from all terrain tiles, choose what to save and also clean up the scene to allow for minimal save scene size.

    This brings the system one step closer to the first Beta and release, planned for later this December.

    UPDATE:

    A new grid brush has been added to the system, with distortion which will enable the creation of road grids, using also height and slope rules.

    Also a new texture synthesis module base has been created and is already working great and very fast using the GPU, this so far apply only to the roads, and is planned to be extended to all brushes, so an option bake of color based on the depth of the brush and possibly a texture can be applied additively to a global map base texture that can have details like houses and trees (something like Substance designer)

    PANGAEA Terraform - In the video is showcased the next generation Non Destructive GPU optimized stamping module, which allows a big number of stamps be manipulated concurrently and overlaid in full real time using the power of the GPU. This feature of Non Destructive extremely optimized stamping can work even in run time as needed for fully procedural real time work generation !!!

    UPDATE:

    The testing of the PANGAEA project in URP and HDRP has been finished, as well as testing with all other existing and coming soon ARTnGAME assets (Sky Master ULTIMATE URP-HDRP, InfiniGRASS STUDIO Pro, Oceanis), so is one step closer to the first Beta release, which will hopefully be early next month.

    Now finalizing the tests in Unity 2020 and 2021 latest versions, as the base work has been done in Unity 2019 LTS.

    PANGAEA Terraform - In the video is showcased the next generation Non Destructive GPU optimized stamping module applied in real time on four terrains with a high resolution stamp.

    The stamps are directly calculated on the GPU for extreme performance with big number of concurrent terrains and stamps all calculated at real time, also the system can be used in run time due to the extreme performance gain with the pure GPU mode !!!

    PANGAEA UPDATE:

    The new non Destructive terrain stamping module has now been extended with rules that go beyond simple stamping, now can define tools like erosion, voronoi, edge detection and much more as extra steps that go into the GPU accelerated real time stamping, for maximum versatility and power into terrain definition, in a non destructive way.

    A video showing the new possibilities will follow soon. The new system can also assign temporary buffers to input and output of the effects, thus is possible to create combinations.

    PANGAEA Terraform - Finalized the spline based mesh generator for flat surfaces like rivers, also the generator can triangulate the mesh in a best fit way for more realistic controllable mesh tessellation and wave blending.

    Improved the PANGAEA Terraform shader for URP - HDRP snow, the same is also now used in Sky Master ULTIMATE URP-HDRP versions (Images and Videos above) and will be enhanced further in parallel for both assets.
