    Hello all!

I'm not particularly excited about the google results I got looking for a 1-on-1 tutor (the good ones were old), and I noticed a few others have posted here before so I thought I'd do the same.

I've been coding in 3D applications like Cinema 4D and Maya for a while, now, and started hobbying about in Unity a little over a year ago to start my desired transition from TV/advertising into games. At this point I'm plenty confident in C#/general Unity programming, and I have made my own shader before. However, I want to expand my shader chops from basic to intermediate, and I don't want to handle this particular learning task solo like I have everything else (like I imagine most of us have).

Examples of what I'd like to learn:
    • Noise/height maps
    • Anything procedural (shader-wise)
    • Querying/creating arbitrary object properties (ie Temperature) with a shader, if possible
    My suggested method:
    • Skype + Skype's share screen function seems the obvious route
    • $40/hour, negotiable
    • I'm extremely flexible, schedule-wise, but I'm thinking... weekly 1-hour sessions? I'm in Los Angeles, which is GMT - 7.00 (that is, seven hours behind London).
    • Payments via Venmo or SquareCash (apps). If you have neither, they're trustworthy and extremely easy to set up. My friends and I use them all the time; you receive sent funds immediately and cashing out takes about 2 business days (this is not an elaborate Venmo commercial, heheh, I just really like them).
Of course I wouldn't expect someone to know the answer to absolutely every question I've ever had, but, naturally, please be experienced in the area :) And I'm sure everyone would prefer money over bartering, but if you're already rich and happen to be looking for a tutor in, say, Cinema 4D (C4D in general or even python scripting in C4D), lemme know and we could discuss a trade possibility. Could be fun.

Ok, thanks a million for reading, everyone! A pm is probably better than posting, here, but either way I'll respond by pm and post here when/if I find someone.

PS: Should/could this be in the Graphics -> Shaders forum? [Heheh, I hope so.]

PPS: I'm a nice, normal person, promise!

I'd be willing to do a few sessions - it'd be fun - I've actually taught shaders to a ton of artist at this point, built the shader graph for my previous employer, etc. You can see some of my shader work in my Unite talk:
