    Hi,

I wanna make my games open source. But there's one problem: paid assets. Can i use paid assets from the Asset Store in my open source project or could this be considered illegal piracy because everybody can extract them from the git repo of my project?

    Nope you can't do that.
See EULA FAQ under "Can I distribute ...?"

Whether you upload just that paid asset to a public download site, or include it as part of your publicly available project, it's the same thing. It would be in violation of the Assets Store terms of use. The main usage right you get for UAS assets is to use them to develop an app (into which the asset may be embedded). That app you can distribute and commercialize any way you see fit. So you would be fine if you only provide free downloads to the builds of your project, or if the public repository of the project excludes all UAS assets, which would probably render it useless for most users.

Though now I wonder ... is there legal piracy? :D
