    Hello,

Does anyone have an idea where do packages get installed on the local computer?

After you download an asset for the first time on Package Manager UI, it gets saved on your local computer.

I need to clean that folder because I don't have enough space anymore

    Kind regards

Do you store multiple project on same drive?
If so, delete libraries of each, for these which you don't use actively. You will save tons of space.
Library will be reloaded again, once you open project. But it may take a bit to do so.

Thank you for your answer. Yes, it's a windows system.

However, the folder you mentioned is for Unity Registry Packages.

I'm talking about the Unity Asset Store assets that we download. Sorry for not being clear enough :)

Yes, that's what I was doing for years lol I definitely thought that I could save a lot of space by deleting those unecessary packages and asset store assets download from my local drive.

Thank you. Is it possible to configure Unity so that it doesn't save the asset store files locally and download them temporarily and import them into the project?

Sadly not, though its not a bad idea and could see it being a useful option in some cases. However worse than that you can't ( unless it has changed very recently ) even assign where asset store downloads or package manager downloads are stored! Users have been requesting this functionality for over a decade in the case of the Asset Store downloads and ever since the introduction of the Package Manager ( so 4-5 years ? )!

For your case I would suggest maybe writing a .bat file that would delete all files from the download location when executed or just create a shortcut to the location for quick access from desktop/taskbar/Home screen.

Alternatively some time ago I wrote a comprehensive editor tool ( UnityAssetStoreOrganizer ) to access and manage the Asset store downloads which can be used to delete downloaded assets. However its main purpose was to provide archiving ( backup ) functionality so you could backup or move downloaded assets to a different location then restore them at a later date including archiving different versions of assets. Its not ideal since you have to import the tool code into your project and it cannot automatically check for updates.

However you can use symbolic links/junction points to point those folders somewhere more convenient.
