I am having the could not establish package manager connection manager issue, at
first going into my user local and roaming, finding the unity files and deleting then used to work,
BUT, updating to 2019.3 this no longer works.

I used the Unity diagnosis tool to get the text files to help figure out what the heck is going on,
    Hope this helps.

Sorry you're having problems with the package manager.
Will take a look and get back to you once we reproduce the issue.
    Thanks!

    Hello,

Could you figure out what was your issue? The first log that you provided https://forum.unity.com/attachments/diagnostic_report_mon_02_17_2020__50831_17-txt.562326/, showed that you had some problems even with your internet connection.

Could you please provide the Editor.log and upm.log? It will help to figure out what's happening, you can find instructions on how to gather these files here: https://forum.unity.com/threads/how-to-expedite-support-help-request-in-this-forum.651127/

    Cheers,

    Supi

Hi guys, I'm having a similar issue. Unity worked on my laptop 2 weeks ago, then randomly stopped working. when I uninstalled it then re-installed and went from 2019 to the 2020 beta, it refuses to work. No edition of unity wants to work on my laptop at all. This is the file

    Hey guys,

Thanks for including the diagnostic tool logs, but it will be helpful if you could provide the Editor.log and upm.log as well. To gather these files, please refer to the Log files section in Unity User Manual.

    Cheers,

    Supi

what about pasting the content of the logs as a message directly here? You could also send it to me as a direct message here in the forum.

Also, I'm not sure with version of Unity you are using at the moment, but 2019.3.4f1 or later have a change for the way Unity Package Manager connects with the Unity Editor, it could help fixing your problem updating to a later version.

    Cheers,

    Hey,

Thanks a lot for providing the logs :)

In the version of Unity you are running 2019.3.5f1 I've seen this error being caused by a firewall/antivirus blocking local connections in the computer.

I'm not sure what you have installed in your computer.

Some users have reported than Windows Defender is causing this problem for them. There's a couple of approaches in this forum related to this:

recreate the Defender Whitelisting rules for Unity: https://forum.unity.com/threads/cou...ger-local-server-process.746267/#post-5244935

    disabling Windows Defender: https://forum.unity.com/threads/cou...ger-local-server-process.746267/#post-5116958

Hope you figure out soon where the problem lays on your end. Please when you do, come back and tell us what worked for you.

    Cheers,

    Supi

I have both defender and McAfee, I saw in previous versions Defender blocking, Unity and I thought I had it properly whitelisted, but I will read the information you have given and see if the resolves the issue.

It might be McAfee as well, something is blocking your local connections. Happy hunting :)

Supita, just to be sure that it was the antivirus programs, I turned both McAfee and defender off, and tried to start untity and got the same result, so do i have to set up a proxy server in order to resolve this?
