I'm working on a Kaiju type of game where you control a giant Crab.

The crab has a moving animation, however at slopes it gets awkward with the legs going through the terrain.

Is there a way that I can override the animated position of an object? I am thinking that the ideal solution for this problem would be to shift each joint in an arm up by a certain amount.
