The Ouya team have mentioned in the past that in order to try and get the consoles to people as quickly as possibly, they are shipping some consoles with the most basic options first and then will follow up later with the rest of the order as a different shipment. I'm not sure exactly how this relates to extra controllers or whether they meant something else.

If your Ouya turns up without the extra controller and you don't hear anything from the Ouya team in a while, contacting them is probably your best bet.

They specifically mentioned the engraved controllers as a holdup in one of the updates.

Ordered an LE w/ four pads midway through the kickstart. Got my shipping confirmation a few days ago, lol. Hopefully get it by end of month. Hope to see some games for it, too, ahaha.

Pickings are pretty slim, and none of the action games are playable because of the controller lag.

I'd kind of expect pickings to be slim at this stage. I mean, it's not retail yet, and I expect most people who pre-ordered one are the same people who'll be making the games we're waiting for.

My tracking number is finally active! My OUYA is in California, and on its way to me here in sunny Arizona. (no seriously, it's really hot here in AZ right now) I requested an extra controller with my contribution, which is part of the reason I was in the later shipments. It's not a very long trip from CA to AZ, so I should be getting my unit in the next few days.

On my Ouya, it takes about .3 seconds between the time I push a button and I see a reaction on the screen. The touchpad is also incredibly jittery. I see this in the main menu and all of the games I tried.

Wow, that's not good. Mines perfect. Have you updated everything and have you tried a restore?

I think they released an update at the end of May. I'd just received my OUYA and had to immediately update.

I was really impressed to hear that Jackbox (formerly Jellyvision) is going to be releasing a version of You Don't Know Jack on the OUYA that will allow you to use your smartphone as a controller. This is an idea I've been kicking around for a while. I knew it was just a matter of time before someone gave it a go. the You Don't Know Jack trivia format is an extremely good fit for this approach. Looks like its time for me to start playing around with the networking classes.

I just recently submitted FishMoto to Ouya -- hoping it'll be available within a week edit: approved and published!

BombSquad is an 8 player party game that lets you use Ouya controllers, PS3 controllers, 360 controllers, iPhones, and Android devices as controllers. Pretty neat.

Hehe... had the same experience, except I googled it and found that you can fix that by doing a system wipe.

    Was not impressed, however.

Update on the controller: They're sending me a newer one, so hopefully my lag problems will go away.

Does the lag exist on every game? And have you tried PS3 or 360 controllers? I didn't notice excessive input lag when I played and my history with competitive counter-strike has made me pretty sensitive to it.

edit: except the touch pad -- I didn't like how the touch pad felt.

There is lag on all of them. It was markedly worse on some games. Polarity and the pinball game were really bad, very frustrating because I wanted to play both of them.
Hopefully the new controller will fix it. I want to play my own game on ouya, but I want to be sure the controller is working right before I put effort into porting, to avoid refrustration.

Is it possible that other stuff is interfering with some peoples' controllers?

I had to ask Ouya when to expect my console... they finally sent a notice that it will ship in the next couple of weeks. Yay.

Were you an early backer? or when did you order it? before February 2013? I placed my order on February 8th and really can't wait to put my hands on this little thing.

I did not back the kickstarter, I ordered mine on their website when they put it up, some time in december last year. They say I should have it within the next week or two.

When they contacted me to confirm the address, I asked them to correct the shipping address. No way, they didn't read my email and sent the package elsewhere.

I ordered my OUYA on Feb 3rd. On Jun 8th I got an email saying my OUYA was was ready to be shipped and to expect it in the next 2 weeks. It won't be coming with the extra controllers I ordered, but oh well.

My OUYA came in today. I un-boxed it, but haven't had a chance to fire it up yet. I will post pictures sometime later this week, and give my impressions on how it runs, and how developing for it is. I will also test my lip-sync tool on it.
