    Hey,

programs don't have permission to write to C:/Program Files anymore since Windows 10 (unless you're using an administrator account of course), which means Unitys output_log.txt doesn't get created in the _Data folder if someone puts the game there.

We noticed that many people use C:/Program Files though, which makes troubleshooting Windows 10 problems really difficult. Does Unity automatically try a different location or something like that?
I know that the log location can be changed by a command line parameter but that's obviously not a proper solution.

No I don't think so...Unity doesn't try to search for alternative path. But log files should be used only in development builds, or do you want to get log files from end users as well?

You can create a bug with a request so that log files would be written to ProgramData or AppData folders instead. So at least we'll know there's an issue like this.

Oh hm, I wasn't aware that it's even possible to disable this log file - I assume its the "Use Player Log" checkbox in the player settings that's enabled by default?

In any case I'd like to keep using them, they are invaluable for fixing exceptions. I'll create a bug report for it.
