I'm using Unity 4.3.4 on OSX. Everything was working fine, I was making iPhone builds, updating scripts, then I get a popup saying its compiling scripts, and it gets stuck at 50%. I can open other projects just fine.

I tried everything including wiping the existing files and downloading yesterday's build from SVN which I know was working. I've tried deleting Unity and its preferences and reinstalling. No matter what I do it keeps getting stuck on Compiling Scripts.

The project works just fine on my windows machine. I even tried copying the project from windows over manually to a new folder, that gets stuck too.

I've been at this for hours, any help is appreciated.

Just made an attempt to use Disk Utility to Verify Disk. It stops pretty fast with "Invalid number of allocation blocks" or "The volume could not be verified completely". Then says "Error: This disk needs to be repaired using Recovery HD, etc....... " So maybe this is a harddrive corruption problem...

When it gets to the point of being stuck, is there anything in the system Console? (Applications/Utilities/Console)

I can't look at this point. I had to use the hidden recovery partition to run Disk Utility which made the problem worse so I couldn't boot. I've wiped the drive and am reinstalling OSX using the hidden recovery drive.

Okay so after a full re-installation of OSX and necessary applications, everything is back to normal. Something went wrong with my SSD file system.
