Hey Guys, thanks for the positive feedback. Much appreciated.

We're seeing a fairly common theme wherever we post: "Graphics look good, no idea about gameplay, not sure what's going on".

We're currently working on a small playable web demo that will show off the core mechanics and a few of features.

Here's sneak peak of the level I'm working on. I'm spending way too much time hitting the sun and playing with the particles. Mmmmmmmmm....digital Doritos..........

    Thanks : )

Couldn't have made it look quite as nice without your excellent shader editor. If we make some money off of our little game we will be making a donation for your great work.

We're AIE nerds currently knees deep in the new Incubator program here. Not sure if we've met but I know at least 1 person who knows you. Would be cool to catch up some time.

We'll keep posting updates as we go and will let you guys know when the playable demo is up.

More random ORBITOR screens. A logo test and some early grabs of our orbital menu system. Definitely a WIP.

Amazing, I love the graphics and how you optimized the physics to make this playable! I prototyped a somewhat similar core mechanic which I posted a bit more than a year ago, so I'm excited to see something like this being worked on http://www.brokentoygames.com/thejump . There is a lot of work which went into Orbitor and it shows. Best of luck to you guys! :)

    Tasadar - Thanks

Joshimoo - Thanks, What part are you asking about? The menu screen is all 3D mesh using colliders, the rings are procedurally generated and the selections are lens flares. The lens flares are not working as well as we would like so we will probably replace them tho.

Werewraith - Cheers, None of the game play physics is using the inbuilt physics system, we are also using some custom collision detection because the game is 2D.

Our first poster using a screen grab direct from Unity using some of the ORBITOR game assets. Mega-grab ftw!

Many thanks. I'm pretty happy with the way the trailer music turned out. I will probably try and expand on it and use it in the game : ) The game still needs a fair bit of work but the core gameplay has always been fun.

What do you do when you're supposed to be recording video tutorials and a swing band starts playing just outside your window? Why, play in Unity of course : )

We've asked one of our good friends and favorite 3d artists to create us a mascot for our company logo and splash screens etc. We're busy making Orbitor and Adam Ball is way too awesome to let go to waste. Here's a WIP.

Thanks SirGive. The game should initially sell between $10 - $20. We'll make a final decision once we're ready to release.

@LeakySink - I use Reason for all of the music and sound design for our games. The only time I use another application is when I need to sync video, then I fire up Cubase and Rewire Reason through it. Cannot recommend Reason enough.

@aiursrage2k - Thanks for the advice :) We're very aware that people don't really understand what the game is. We hope to clear this up soon with a playable demo. We will definitely have extensive tutorial levels in our game.

We discovered the Orbiter game from Martin Schweiger pretty early on. It's been around for some time now and is pretty damn awesome :)

Orbitor was the first name I came up with and we decided it was perfect for our game regardless. People may get confused by the spelling but certainly not by the games.

EDIT: Sorry didn't see that it was Obitor, likely to be okay as there's not much overlap between the games.

We finally managed to get the boundary impact fx done after working our way through a long list of features. Getting close to release after a couple of years work. Woo! :)

Hey! I was wondering how Orbitor was coming along. Haven't been able to find any info about it since I finished the course I was doing at AIE. Good to see you guys are almost done. Good luck, and I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

Whatever detail you'll give about the gameplay, I feel a very high risk of severe addiction to this game :p

I asked Adam to make some changes to our Evil Aliens mascot. He looked too much like a wild animal who's actions would be based on instincts. So I asked Adam to make him look much more intelligent and superior. I think he got it bang on. One of the best "grey" style alien designs I've seen. Can't wait to start the environment for this guy

Here's a WIP screenshot of our alien, real time in Unity. Textures are unfinished but it gets the idea across.
