Is there a version without the interior? I could use this but having a full interior would be of no use.

No there isn't , YET. :DVery cool! I'll look into that. I've been thinking about separating off the dropship seat as well.

    Thanks for the feedback!

This is GORGEOUS. Do you have any plans for a modular sci-fi kit done in the same style?

Thanks @Wavenator ! We have several kits in the works! What kind of modular sci-fi kit are you looking for? Modular spacecraft or maybe environment interiors?

If anyone else is looking for more assets in this style and quality please let me know what you would like to see next!

If you're looking to make money on the asset store I think you would do well with environments.

Thanks @randomperson42 ! I'm kinda starting to get the feeling more broad and general assets are the way to go instead of very specific items. We actually have a modular environment in the works and will show more when we have more done.

Here is a high res image showing off what the 4k textures can look like -

Thanks everyone for your support! Sales of our assets allow us to continue to do what we love : make high quality content like this available for your amazing game projects! We look forward to seeing them in your games!

I think ground bases would sell well. I'd like to see things like an Arctic or tropical base, but personally I'm looking for modular environments that can composite starship interiors. Not sure if that would sell as much but things like an engine room, bridge, cargo bay, medical area, commissary in themes like military or luxury starship would be cool.

@Rajmahal - There will be one soon! We have just submitted a "no interior" version and hopefully it will be up in the next couple of days! Thanks again for your interest and feedback!

@Wavinator - Thanks for your input! Those are all really great ideas! The wheels have started turning on the environment stuff and we are happy to hear what people are interested in seeing. We will start up a WIP thread when we have something to show off! :)

I would love to see more Sci Fi environments suitable for top down view games.

Thanks @Rajmahal - We will take top down applications into account as we are designing our modular environment assets! In your opinion, is there anything in particular that would make an asset more top-down friendly? I would love some input as you seem pretty experienced working on those kinds of projects.

Also, I am very proud to announce that the reentry craft was featured on Allegorithmic's top picks for the month of January!

    Check it out - HERE

And also on Allegorithmic's Site - LINK (scroll down to the middle of the page :))

I think the best way to look at what makes good top down assets would to check out ones like those made by M4 and 3DForge. Basically, environments that don't have roofs to obstruct a top down view camera and also have tops on things like walls and other dividers so that they don't look funny when viewed from down view.

@Rajmahal - Sorry for the slow reply! We have been busy with some exciting things. Thanks for your input! It's always good to hear from people who are working with assets from the store. We will make sure to keep the top-down view in mind for our modular assets.

Just for fun, here is a little behind the scenes look at some of the high poly geometry used to generate the normal maps for the Orbital Reentry Craft! -

Just wanted to share some exciting work that Iestyn Lloyd has done with our Orbital Reentry Craft!

Also we are busy right now getting the ORC Unity 5 ready along with some tweaks and additions for both 4 and 5 versions.

@yezzer - Thanks again SO MUCH for your awesome work with our asset!

Some updates on our Orbital Reentry Craft asset -

Our Orbital Reentry Craft asset was used in a demo created by @yezzer which is FEATURED IN THE UNITY 5 LAUNCH TRAILER AT GDC!!

In addition it seems our asset is making the rounds at some other booths at GDC! Here it is at Allegorithmic's booth showing off our integration of Substance materials on the asset. (photo from @yezzer )

And finally . . . We would like to announce that we have finally submitted the Unity 5 version Reentry Craft to the asset store and it is awaiting approval. In addition to Unity 5 support we have added Alloy support to our Substance materials!

Here is a screenshot of the interior running in Unity 5 with Alloy shaders! -

Big thanks to @xenius for helping us get up and running on Alloy in no time! The Alloy shaders are such a pleasure to work with and we will be adding support for them to all our assets from here on out!

The asset is no longer supported in Unity. If it is not updated it should be taken off from the asset store.
