    Hey,
just finished making a course on optimization in Unity!
    Topics covered include:
    • How CPU, GPU, and Memory contribute to process each game frame
    • What draw calls are and how to reduce them
    • How memory usage can impact your game on mobile devices
    • Profiling and analyzing performance using the built-in device profiler and xCode
    • A comparison of the efficiency of common game features

If you're interested, you can use this code to get a 60% reduction:

Feedback is of course appreciated! ;)

I watched parts of the three preview videos and read the description. This course looks interesting. It is good to see material on optimization since so many tutorials cover just basics or just how to build one game.

A question from watching the sample videos: Are the purchased videos of higher quality? The resolution was a bit low in the samples. For instance, in "CPU Bound Example" I could really read anything in the Unity editor window because it was not sharp enough.

Hi Socrates, thanks for the feedback!
I'm not entirely sure why, but the Udemy site only lets you watch the previews in lower quality (quite blurry).
The actual videos are recorded in 720p (1280x720) - the promo video at the top of the course page can be watched in HD by clicking the icon at the bottom of the player, so maybe this will help get a better idea of the text readability.
It's recorded at the native resolution of my macbook so when watching in HD mode the text should be readable.
Thanks for the kind words, my aim is to cover different topics of game optimization for which I personally found it difficult to find detailed resources online.

Lower quality previews make sense from a cost of bandwidth perspective. I expected that this is what was going on, but wanted to check because I have seen tutorials before that were uploaded in a resolution that was too low.

This is exactly why your tutorial caught my attention. The times I have tried to do some research into optimization and understanding how to build a game that isn't a lumbering beast from the get-go, I tend to only find vague answers like, "Using this feature is generally expensive."

Is there an expiration date on that half-off code you posted?

No worries, the code should be valid for at least the next couple weeks. Also, I think Udemy occasionally offer courses at a further reduced price, so it's worth checking by once in a while :)
