Is it possible to open a prefab stage for something that is not a prefab? It would be so awesome to do this! Imagine the possibilities!

    that sounds cool!

like an "isolate" tool to work on some gameobject or so?

Yes! For example, I have a toolset for creating "avatars", (characters with collision, skinned meshes, etc generated and merged at runtime) and it would be so nice to be able to edit the avatar in a stage. :)

Probably not, I guess, but you can code it easily. If you create a button which reacts to selection, you can make a prefab of them/it, open the isolation, then when you close it off, you just convert the prefab back to game object. I think you have all the tools to do this. BTW, I think this is a very good idea.

Yeahhh that's what I was going to do, but it would be even better if this was possible without creating a prefab :3 I'm guessing its not for now though

Also a cool feature, although not the same as having separate stages ^_^
