    New water system WIP










    Issue with UNITY 2018.3

    It has come to mhy attention that the system produces an error in Unity 2018.3

    "Assets/SkyMaster/Scripts/V3.5 Scripts/Fix Unity2018 LegacyParticles/Editor/Legacy_Particle_System_UpdaterSM.cs(63,13): error CS0246: The type or namespace name `ParticleEmitter' could not be found. Are you missing an assembly reference?"

    This is due to the converter for the old Legacy particle system that is now obsolete in Unity 2018.3, thus the error is directly solved by deleting the "Legacy_Particle_System_UpdaterSM.cs" script, which no longer has any use.

    I have uploaded a new version of Sky Master ULTIMATE as well (v4.6) to the store and will be up soon.

    Is the new water tweakable to be used as lakes / rivers as well?

    Personally, I'm fine with upgrade price.

    Sure, the water can be used for anything and also for cases where the water - air interface is important, e.g. for water like in Ori game. I plan to do a lot more with it as well, this first version will just be the base of the new system to build on.

    I attach some samples of various waves and air-water interface possibilities, those are only a tiny fraction of what can be done though

    Hi, does the water have a function that keeps it from getting into objects like boats etc. Similar to how it is done in this video:
    I really need something like that for my game.

    Yes, sure, i have masking system in place for the coming water. Check boat in video, water plane is not inserted inside boat.

    Hi, i sent the two options in Discord chat, one is through the presets or the new gradient and curve based system
    There is also a global sky intensity slider in the sky section. Let me know for any further help.

    Great product and appears to have great utility. I am unfortunately however struggling with achieving buoyancy for a rigid body object, do you have a link to a tutorial?

    Hi, i have a sample script that samples wave height and does motion for objects, the sample can do floating spheres you throw from the boat, this can be enabled in water section in the configurator.

    This sample acts as base to build upon, as the use cases can vary. More bouoyancy specific scripts and work will come in next versions, with precision shape based approach etc, though those are still WIP as are rather complex

    Some users have created custom scripts from this as well, here is a tutorial - script for example

    I have had a few requests for a top cloud layer setup and sun rays that are more evident and i attach a sample scene with both those features for reference.

    These will allow fly through and special cloud formations as well, plus all cool effects of masking and shaping and will also have sun shafts and rain volumes integrated

    These are some of the best looking if not the best looking waves I've seen on the asset store. The sky looks great. Everything does. If you manage to get the user interface for Skymaster and Infinigrass/tree simplified then they should race to the top of the asset store charts :)

    hi, I'm trying skymaster. I'm using RigidBodyFPSController from unity asset, with the camera duplicated from skymaster's camera. Water ripples and most of the things are working well but not the snow and rain for wich the emitter seems staying in a particular place of the scene while working fine with skymaster's camera.

    Since i'm new/back to unity (I've been busy for years) maybe i'm doing something wrong or missing something? Thank you for your advice.

    Hi,

    Is your camera tagged as "MainCamera" and is it the only one in the scene ?

    Also when using other camera, make sure to do following steps:

    - Disable my camera
    - Assign "MainCamera" tag to your camera so Sky Master can sense it
    - Copy camera properties from default camera to new one (in image i show where to find the copy and paste properties for reference, with right click on the camera component of old and new camera)
    - Copy Sun Shafts and Global Fog image effects to the new camera from the disabled one
    - Copy FullVolumeCloudsSkyMaster script (must do this after the previous step, order is important)
    - For water droplets on camera, parent the "DROPLETS" object parented to old camera to the new one and set it to 0,0,0 transformation in the new camera.
    - Erase all other cameras from scene (including Sky Master default one), so new camera is grabbed by the weather system and parent the particle effects to the new camera at game start (this will solve the issue of particle effects staying at old camera position)

    This will restore all functionality of default camera to your camera, i attach an image showing the components on new camera.

    Thank you for your answer and screenshot, it helped me :) I thought to disable your main camera was enough but i had to delete it.

    Now rain and snow emitter is working but then water ripples effect on screen is gone... Since i copy & past from your main camera before to delete it i guess droplets object and planes related to the camera are ok? The shader seems to be set in the plane... Do you have an idea about it? Thanks

    I've got infiniGrass, SkyMaster and infiniTrees and for now I'm trying to learn infiniTrees asset and I just can't grasp what I need to do to just create a forest in an editor. I'm reading PDF instruction, I understand words but not the meaning.

    Like for example, here's a text "Grow the tree during gameplay by instantiating the prefab (sample code in the script attached to the camera, in the demo scene), or placing it on the scene at the desired point or grow the tree in editor by checking "Grow in Editor"." So I want to see trees in the editor and I'm working with the demo scene. So I've checked "Grow in Editor" in three existing prefabs, but nothing happens with two prefabs and the third one makes two trees. I tried to change parameters of INfiniDy Tree script, but nothing happens. Tried to add new prefab, checking "Grow_in_Editor" and nothing. I just don't know what to do at this point. And there are more things in the PDF instructions which I don't understand.

    Granted I'm somewhat new to unity and I'm still learning, but I still think documentation should be more clear then that.

    What I'm asking is just to record a video of what you're doing to create a forest and other things from scratch. It doesn't even have to be well edited or have a voice over.

    I will record a video for infinitree and attach it here. I would recommend start with infinigrass that has an automatic editor preview and multiple videos. Infinitree is a simpler system and has no central manager to grow, ungrow trees. You can plant trees with infinigrass as well for bigger forest management. Infinitree is good for L_trees so each tree is unique.

    Please, how do you make the clouds move/evoluate slower/faster? I read the script reference guide and tried several settings from unity inspector as well from my own script but without noticeable result for this. Same about density in sky, I mean density covering the sky?

    You mean the new volumetric clouds (infinicloud) ?

    There is a set of scroll variables that you use to regulate the two noises speed
