Hello @nasos_333 ! One question, does your new water system work well to show realistic graphics and different types of waters (Caribbean, etc, etc)?

As the Asset PWW and UWS are deprecated, do you have thought of getting such a realistic water visually ???

Hi,

Sure, the water is fully customizable and good for all cases. Even more i plan to incorporate a dynamic river system that will do foam based on actual river obstacles and at run time.

I plan for this to be the most advanced water i can create and will definitely has some ideas i have not seen yet in the industry as well, like this new dynamic river water system.

Those extreme and unique features will probably be included in a upgrade i will call Sky Master xSTREAM and i am thinking of making it standalone asset too.

Is there a demo with rain droplets splashing on the ground and getting the ground wet? I can see screenshots of it in the PDF but don't know which scene file it is in. Thanks

I see, this wetness is from the custom terrain shader used in Sky Master. There is no actual automation over this, so is up to user to play with the shader, because it is not clear how the wetness should remain or last etc and depends on gameplay needs etc

So you can get the weather by the currentWeatherName variable and then regulate the custom terrain material properties like wetness in code, to get any effect. The raindrops are just from rain particle.

I can write a sample script if you like, so not look for the proper variables etc as a base for that automation. Or augment the randomized weather script to have such functionality is another idea.

In next version i will have rain drops in shader mode too, for both terrain and water, so wont be linked to particle only and be much faster for vast number of rain drops.

 

The properties for adjusting the wetness of the terrain can be accessed through the SkyMasterManager script? Sample scripts sounds good as well

edit: Also, is it possible, with the current package, to form puddles as it rains?

 

puddles are not directly possible. The wetness can be shifted from configurator, but this is mainly to adjust at editor time for game start, you can use the code in that though as base, but i can write a sample script better to make it more clear and not search code.

So I went through the tutorials, and I was wondering if there's a "barebones" esque usage. For example, say I just want the day/night light, clouds, and weather. No seasonal, water, etc.

Am I able to use a 4.2 prefab and delete everything else? Is the terrain part necessary for what I'm after? Basically just a little overwhelmed as a first time user.

 

You can get things disabled in the main prefab, e.g disable water object.

Terrain is not needed, u can just do a dummy mesh as terrain to enable the fog and seasons control script, but in mesh mode anything can be setup as terrain for example.

The new volume clouds InfiniCLOUD can be used as standalone, also you could get base sky tod and weather with step by step configuration

Just wanted to say that I love your stuff, your dedication to make them better every time, your commitment to help out (I know I've reached out to you many times in the past and you helped me beyond your scope IMO) and always friendly.

We are always very fast to call out on devs providing bad support, but it's also good to share some love and call out the good devs that keep their assets alive and keep improving them. Keep up the good work.

The new water looks really good, and the transition from above to below camera wise is so far the smoothest I've seen.

The clouds are already included in the system, the water will come in the next upgrade, i think of free or $5 initial upgrade pricing.
