Question Old SteamVR project not working anymore in new Unity versions?

Hi,I just opened a steam VR project that was done in 2018-2019 version unity.I opened the project in 2021.3. now I see plenty errors. I updated the SteamVR plugin still many errors are there. Will I be able to work on the same project or I have to redo it .If I add OpenXR and XR interaction toolkit will the steam input functions and other function work as earlier? or will I have to write new code with XR interaction toolkit and redo the project.Looking forward to which direction I should follow.
