    As they say anything is possible. I find it unlikely in general just because I doubt people in many places have even heard of that company to begin with. Microsoft on the other hand I think is pretty well known worldwide. Not to mention MS would be heavily branding it as being theirs. So I think even this was a huge stretch.

    Sooner or later details may come out if possible. I may try to find the original article or twitter post tonight. Maybe not because I'd rather work on my game.

    BUT ... but ... Procedural generation! :oops:
    Or so I heard that's a magical thing to solve all dev problem lol :rolleyes:

    Also I doubt that the 10 years in the making FFXV is using any kind of procedural generation, I doubt they are up to date with that. Contrary to most successful western studio who have at least a first automated pass on many asset type and human pass to correct (see witcher 3's cutscenes) which decrease the job burden (uncharted specifically hired an artist versed in procedural generation).

    There was a massive thread where I wrote about it, including looking up all of the case details. I'm actually pretty sure no money changes hands, except for payments to lawyers.

    Go back and find that thread. It has links to all of the filed claims and counter claims.

    @BoredMormon I do remember that.

    I just did some more research to try to find what it was I had read before.

    Turns out this was another lawsuit for a different game Ark Survival Evolved.

    In that one, they were sued for $600 million.
    And they settled for $40 million

    I don't get into this kind of drama much and to me Ark, No Man's Sky basically all the same. 6 one way. Half a dozen the other. Since I play neither.

    Anyway, sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

    I feel that is a subjective term, today even more than in the past.

    Might pass the test as a walking simulator :)

    From the description though it would seem the guy is only interested in making an environment - which might explain why there were not really any mechanics shown. I could be wrong though. In any case, besides the running animation it looks great!

    It's probably like everything else. Although there are hard limits ultimately as to what one person can accomplish in a given amount of time the greatest limit is always our own beliefs.

    It's like power lifting and running. People once believed a man could never bench press more than 400 pounds or squat more than x pounds. It was a mental barrier. Once one man accidentally broke it (thinking he was lifting less) suddenly in following weeks people around the world also broke through that limit.

    The more we see one person creating these kind of things the more it will happen because belief systems begin to change. Yes I know this sounds like hocus pocus but is just the way it works.
