Odd Question: Where does water get its "Blueness"

I thinned down my Unity Project file. Unfortunately, all the water in my world has vanished from the editor, and when I hit play the water appears but has no color, and my waterfalls all are pink - even the spray.

I removed several purchased texture packs to save space, and some purchased water, but nothing I can see that would affect the Unity water.

I mostly use Unity Pro Daylight Water.

FYI - I checked, and the water DOES have its shader and textures in place. Could this be a camera or other issue?

    Thank you. :)

Doesn't the water just reflect? So, what color is your skybox? I haven't done much with water so I'm just speculating. That's where I'd look first though.

    Thank you, JT.

Right now I am just using pure blue for the sky, to hold down demands while building. However, this change just happened, and the skybox has been in place a long time. While building I do not see the water at all.

Try to import the same water asset again. But before you click the import button look through the manifest to see if you have all the files you need for your water. If one of the files for your water says "NEW" beside it, then you might have accidentally deleted it. So re-import that file and it will probably bring back your water.

Pinky purple colors mean something is wrong with shading ... a material is missing.

Thank you, Hopeful. I took your advice and worked all morning on this. While all the problems are not gone, I made major improvements. You know your stuff! :)

Psh. Not at all. I have only a little experience with Unity and game development. But I'm glad to have been of help. :)
