Oculus Rift S + Unity 2019.3.9f1 + HDRP Display staying black

    I tried setting up a recently finished project for VR. It's using HDRP in Unity 2019.3.9f1.
    I installed the Oculus XR package as well as XR Management and used the HDRP Wizard to verify everything has been set up correctly. I also selected Single Pass Instanced Rendering.
    Then I added a basic XR Rig from the prefab to the scene.

    When entering play mode I can see the headset movement being picked up - the camera is moving accordingly on the screen, however, the HMD's screen stays completely black.
    The Oculus app says Unity Editor is running and showing no errors.

    I don't understand what I am missing here. The Unity VR lab example scene is working fine on this headset but my own scene is not.
