Anyone here with laptop + gtx980m + oculus dk2? (and latest 0.7 runtime)

    Does it work or not?
    Works with Unity editor/builds ?

(since can see mixed posts in the net, some cannot get it to work, some say its slow, others can play certain demos but not all..etc)

Oculus posted the recommended minimum specs here:
    • NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
    • Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
    • 8GB+ RAM
    • Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
    • 2x USB 3.0 ports
    • Windows 7 SP1 or newer
If your laptop meets those specs, it might work. The GTX 980m runs about 75% as fast as a GTX 970, so you may need to crank the quality down quite a bit.

I managed to get my DK2 working on a laptop that's well below those specs, but it was absolutely unplayable.

@mgear I've got a Metabox (Clevo) P750ZM which has a 980m. It works great with 0.7 however I made sure it didn't have Optimus after reading about the possible issues.

I think it really depends on the game and how is has been optimised for VR. For example in World of Diving there was clearly an issue as I was getting 75FPS no problem at the surface, yet if I swam down to the floor and just sat there viewing only the sand it was only getting about 55FPS (judder, not nice). The same issue was present even after switching to the lowest quality settings so not sure what was causing it. In most other games I can get 75FPS no problem at all. Titans of Space for example is amazing, perfectly smooth...
