Just tried this in one of our upcoming iPhone games. It works like a charm. Ethan, the commercial version of this should really be up on the asset store for at least a couple of bucks.

Yes. Just add the script, change the values ( the demolition range, the max collision strength and the impact dir manipulator )

When I try it on my own car, the mesh flies everywhere and my car looks glitched out. I tried to play around with the settings and it still was weird. What are the settings you used for the tech demo?

    Hi Ethan and everybody,
I have downloaded your mesh deformation script and tried to apply it on car that we created. The car is extremely low poly (542 poly) when compared to the pick up truck which you have provided with your test scene. The issue I am facing is that the mesh is not deforming on my car when I crash it.
Is there a requirement on the poly count of the car?
I have not used wheel colliders on my car and I am just moving it with the transform.position, can this be also an issue?

The referenced url to the actual script in ethans post on this topic is redirecting me to their root-domain page. Could anyone post this script or e-mail me?

    Thanks

I might have this laying around on some old hard drive. Will be back to my desk on tuesday. Regardless, it was only getting vertices in a radius around the contact point ( transformed to local space ) and moving them.

@Invertex, saw the link, assumed it did not work for him. Actually tested now and it does work. Sorry! File is too large to upload here though.

Web archive link works! Can't post zip though as it says the file is too large.
