Note to Unity Developers...

Two points...
1.) You guys launched your latest Beta WAY WAY WAY TO EARLY...
It just was NOT ready... What a mess...
What, were you rushing to hit the Build 2016 deadline?
2.) Removing the Web Player with the replacement of WebGL... VERY BAD move...
Your WebGL system... Same thing... JUST NOT READY....
You need to make it seamless... This memory issue is ridiculous...
To much---- not enough.... to much... not enough... Compiling back and forth to find the sweet spot is a
lousy waste of our time... With my Whistler project there is NO sweet spot, I got it narrowed down to 1 meg
difference. My small AEC VDC simulation projects work fine with WebGL but big projects are a problem.
Please fix your WebGL system and make it as easy and as good as your Web streaming Web Player.

Advice... Please slow down and wait to launch your Beta's until they are worth our time...
Advice.... Please re-offer the Web Player at least until you get WebGL seamless and easy...
Our time is worth something and we would prefer it if you gave us better toys to test...
You guys make an awesome product and I thank you for your efforts.
But please slow down and get your releases in good shape for us...

Why offer the Web Player now that the NPAPI has been removed from browsers that 95%+ people use everyday?

 

Advice... wait for final releases not beta.

Thread is locked because it doesn't really supply feedback or usability testing, which is what the 5.4 forums are for. Instead it is just advice. Beta is 100% optional, and users are referred to as Testers. It's for testing, not production.

If you have actual feedback with that in mind, please make a separate post outlining the issue. Bug reports are also very welcome.

Finally, the webplayer is gone for good.
