Normal Map Sprites

    I found this very *awesome* post with interesting idea :

    But as a complete n00b for this; i'm wondering if anybody could write/explain how to achieve this 'effect'.
    (PS: for Mac please)

    It's a shader that supports transparency and normals. Those are everywhere if you search for them. Then just add a light to the scene.

    That blog post even has source code for the shader.

    So if i have a sprite that is animated i should be doing this for every frame/animation and sprite by sprite ?

    You would do it for anything that you want to apply the affect to, yes.
