NoOp TexturePakcer our free and open source high performance texture packer is released

    we at make multiple tools for Unity and we recently have open sourced our texture packer which can pack AO, roughness and metallic to different channels on a texture or convert roughness to smoothness and put it in the alpha of the metallic texture for unity.

    It is useful for mask textures for HDRP but unity can make them itself (although much slower) as well.

    You can get the tool from GitHub and can watch the video below to see how we increased its performance by a large margin

    We use this internally and for our upcoming model packs and hope it can be useful for you as well.

    This is not on the assetstore yet since we cannot provide and exe in an assetstore package and we did not want to ask you to compile the tool after downloading it yourself. Usually assetstore users require automatically working assets.

    However you can check our other packages on the assetstore which allow you to make the most immersive AIs for your games very easily.
