    Hi All,

I was wondering if you release 3D models on Unity Asset Store as a unity package does this conflict with selling the same 3D models as exclusive on 3Docean since the format would be different?

UnityAssetStore: Unity3D assets (with FBX, tga, etc elements)
3Docean: Model package files (with OBJ, FBX, MA, MAX files etc)

Typically the point of selling models exclusive is so no one else has the same model in there game. Reformatting it and reselling it kind of defeats the point.

When you sell a model exclusively you are not just selling the pixels. You are selling the rights to use that model in any form. That's why exclusive models cost so much more.

Thanks for the reply. That is true of course but I wasn't clear I think.
3Docean has a non-exclusive / exclusive selling option. So it's their fee that is affected (55%) for non exclusive.

So I was wondering how thin is the line between exclusive and non-exclusive?

You should re-check the meaning for the word exclusive. It couldn't be any more clear than it already is. You either sell exclusively or not.

You're exclusive as long as the models on 3D ocean can only be found on 3D ocean... I know that they also have a mix between exclusive and normal. Just means that you have some models that are exclusive to 3D ocean. You're selling licenses to use your product. The models itself is not exclusive since you can sell as many licenses you want. It can just be sold x times on 3D ocean exclusively.
    hope that makes sense.

With relation to a marketplace, there isn't a line and it is pretty black and white. The models are either sold only on 3dOcean (Exclusive) or they are sold on 3dOcean and any other place (Non-Exclusive). It doesn't matter what the format is if the assets are still the same thing.

Thank you everyone, I thought it might be as simple as this, considering their large cut I wanted to ask.
