no reply from unity, trying forums

    Dear Unity;

    this is my 4th letter (in 4 weeks) with no reply back concerning my hierarchy problem, it does not print out in alphabetical order.

    please advise

    There is setting in preferences that will turn the alpha sort back on.

    Note that once you've turned on that setting in preferences, you may still need to pick AlphaSort using the button in the top right of the hierarchy window.

    Don't know what went wrong when you used the contact form. When you email support@ it'll drop into my team, who'll respond typically within 5 days. (Usually much _much_ quicker for licensing and asset store issues).

    i'm not sure what you mean,

    this is actually first time (I think) I have written to Unity with a problem, I have written in the past in order to give praise and tell them how wonderful Unity is and how much I love unity.

    my hierarchy is all messed up and i can not work with my projects until I find out what is wrong with it.

    the hierarchy is refusing to print out the game objects in alphabetical order so I have to do it my self and that is like going backwards and not forwards, it even unscrambles the game objects after I have put them in alphabetical order.

    it happened after I upgraded to 4.5 just recently.

    Your question was answered a couple of posts up aaronhm77. This is expected behavior, and there is a preference to get the previous alphabetical sorting back.

    When I read your first post, I assumed you'd emailed into the support team 4 times and had not got any kind of response. So, I looked for emails from you, and only found one from last year. Your post from 15 mins ago tells me that you used the contact form. That's meant to get picked up by the same system we use for support.

    Anyways, did superpig's post about the sorting option in Preferences not help? When that preference is turned on, you get an extra button in the top left of the hierarchy window, which lets you choose between alpha-numeric sorting or sorting based on the transform order. (The latter is probably what you are used to.) 4.5 added this sorting feature.

    yes I fixed the problem in prefrences;

    whoooo...! (sweeps hand across brow)

    a whole month of no replies and not being able to work normally.

    I could not find no other place to send my problem except to contact,

    I wanted to let unity know and also to find out if it was a problem with other people.

    also I have a new email address that i do not use to log into Unity but I do not know why that would be a problem.

    Well, please don't wait 4 weeks and get frustrated. There's this forum, the Answers site and the support@ address, all of which should help get you sorted.

    For most problems, the forum would be your best first stop. Half the time you'll get a reply within a couple hours. In the case of this particular question, you might have seen one of the many other threads people had posted about this change, and not had to wait at all.

    ya i know, i am very patient at certain things, i love unity and the people (very professional) so i could not get mad or impatient but after waiting a month of being in dark and not having a clue, i came to the forums and all the lights where turned back on.
