Hello, I may have missed an release detail from last version of Unity... But it seems the PackingTag is now only available from the SpritePacker > Mode > Always Enabled (Legacy Sprite Packer). PackingTag was efficient when it came to gather sprite from a common scene to reduce drawcall etc... There is probably a good reason it has been removed (sent to Legacy) and wondering how does it works in the new version? Does Unity packs automatically taking everything it finds as sprites? How does it manage assets showing up from a same scene to gather sprite as smart as possible? Any url would be appreciated ! Thanks for the clarification!
Unity is now using SpriteAtlas to pack textures together. You create it as an asset in your project, and assign it files or whole folders to pack. No more tagging every sprite. https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/SpriteAtlasWorkflow.html https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/class-SpriteAtlas.html
