Use contract enhance for greater effects, also. I love that effect. Also, looking good! You mind sharing the sky boxes(since you found them free).

$10? If it were me, I'd put it up for at least $20!

I can't even describe how amazing it looks. Every Indie dev should look towards you as inspiration, because those screenshots looking F***ing fantastic and I am going to buy this game day one.

You guys are being very generous :)

Those posts were made when there was a team, i never bothered to change them all when i became the only developer.

Thanks for the amazing words :) btw the game will be free!

    Thanks :)

    -------------------------

    Interactive Cloth Physics.
It will give a different feel to the island.
It doesn't have a big performance hit, but there is an option to disable cloth physics for better performance.

And just to let you guys know, after optimizations of the game and tweakings of the video recording software, i was able to test record close to 30 FPS with little to no lag, so the next update (probably next weekend) will hopefully have better quality.

Really, I would charge for this. I'm serious when I say that you're inspiration for indie developers EVERYWHERE. When did you start developing?

It looks like in that second picture you have depth of field that only blurs things close to the camera, how did you do this? I've been trying to figure it out but with unity DOF effects I can only get stuff close and far away blurred with the middle clear, but I want just the stuff close to the camera.

    That's a great compliment :)
I started this game with two of my friends(1 music composer/writer and 1 modeler/animator) about 1 and half years ago . Note that i had pratically no experience and very little knowledge of 3d modelling, animation, texturing, game design, Unity, etc. I did have some experience in programming (about 3 years in university). This project has been like a learning project.
I've heard so many times people telling me they started to make games in Unity because of me, and that makes me really happy :)

As people have said, people will pay for this if that's what you would do. Going f2p seems a bit generous for this much work.

João (music composer/writer) left because when we decided to do multiplayer only, he didn't have anything to work on.
Luís (3d modeler/animator/sound technician) left last December because he didn't have any free time to work on the game.

    Hello everyone!
    Here are some updates:
    - The player slightly moves back the weapon when it's close to a wall (See Pic),
    - Added more destroyed objects/buildings,
    - Improved some animations and sounds,
    - Added ambient sound to the island and some objects also have sounds,
    - Reduced weapon sway,
    - Improved player speed,
    - Many fixes and performance improvements.

Next update will be released next weekend and will probably not have music (only island and player sounds) and multiplayer.

Hey, the video was really nice. Now i don't know if it was because i was using a headset or the volume was up but the footsteps sounded really loud. Also when did you add Fire Modes and will they be for all the weapons?

Very nice video update, I love all the sounds!

What was the clicking noise with the gun at 5:27 in the video?

    Hello everyone!
I'm back to work after having 2 tests and 2 projects in 3 days this week.
I'm going to start implementing a character customization system, allowing players to have a wide variety of characters to choose from.
I also found some screenshots of the island in its early stages, so i decided to make a before and after comparison of the island.

Sorry for only responding now to your question, i forgot...
The sound was switching the weapon's fire mode to single fire.

The level is looking better and better. Will there be other maps though? Also, I noticed your updates are kind of the same. Perhaps you should try making them different somehow instead of just running around the map all the time.

Besides that, the game is getting a lot of views. How are you getting so much attention?

    good luck

Thanks, yes i will be making new and probably larger maps.
I do realise the updates are very similar, do you have any ideas to add some variety?

Well people seem to like the game and updates, some websites have been showing it too (without my knowledge xD), other than that, i post it on facebook, twitter, indieDB, here on the forums and on the steam greenlight page.

    Here's a few suggestions I thought of.

1.Instead of showcasing the game from the first person perspective usually, show it from a third person or floating camera position once in a while. So its more like a presentation instead of game play footage.

2.When new models or weapons are made, build a speical scene that showcases them with a 360 viewing angle and circle the camera around them in the video.

    3. I think it would be more interesting if the updates had different themes to them. Instead of general updates that encompasses the whole game, have updates that focuses on for example, physics, bullets, graphics and models, GUI, etc. And include the subject in the title. Like [DLG] [UNITY 3d] No Heros - Update # 38 (cloth physics).

    Here's a small update:

I've been working on the character customization and it's already working in-game (only for 3rd person yet), allowing to change accessories, clothes, gloves, helmets, glasses, etc.
There will be many unlockables too and the system is relatively easy to add new objects.
    The system is still WIP.

    This game looks awesome!

I do have a question though... are you used the charactercontroller script? Or did you write your own script and use a rigidbody on the character?

I just posted this on facebook, so i'll also post it here xD

Well it was a bit unrealistic to make a game with only one person (it's possible but unrealistic), it's like that expression: "Jack of all trades, master of none". This way i can focus and get better on other aspects of the game, make the game better than previously predicted and possibly finish it faster.

I wasn't accepting new members and it wasn't a rash decision. We talked before he joined and made a decision that he would be a great addition to the team. He's also much more experienced in 3d modelling and texturing than i am, so you can expect high quality assets from him like that soldier.

I've been working on a new concept, the proximity radar.
It's still a concept, it would display enemies and allies near the player every 1-2 seconds or display where the shots are fired.
You could still fire the weapon but it has less accuracy and more recoil.
It's easy and fast to check the radar, and there would also be unlockables with different features you could use, adding more customization to the game.

    New update #39!

    - The team has grown to 3 members,
    - Luís is back on DLG and he will be working on the maps, sound design and more,
    - Scout D-B also joined DLG and he will be working on the characters, weapons, attachments and more,
    - I've been working on a new concept, the proximity radar, it shows as dots the nearby enemies/allies position. You can still fire the weapon when checking the radar but it will decrease accuracy and increase recoil.
    - I've also been working on character customization, enabling you to choose different parts of the soldier to customize
