"Nexus" is an amorphous entity that plans to unify video games in a way that benefits both game developers and gamers. A place where Unity developers can share resources (not the asset store, a bit different), and some central point of communication between games. It heavily follows the philosophy of Open Source, or at least sharing enough resources with your fellow developers to compensate.

Made an innovative game? Under The Nexus, developers are expected to at least write an article about the tech behind it. This will grant you 20,000 Nex. If you share a small demo featuring similar mechanics, you are rewarded 40,000 Nex. Completely open-sourcing your game will grant you 100,000 Nex.

People can use Nex to buy some items in games, or they can use Nex to buy resources from other developers.

This is the overall gist of it, but there are some variations.

    1. Social Nexus

People can basically "upload" resources directly to other projects. It also has a stronger emphasis on treating Nex as a currency.

    2. Global Nexus

The Nexus basically acts as a giving tree of sorts. Except this time she doesn't die, and people are actively contributing to it. It's a game that's sort of a manifestation of everyone's contributions to the Nexus. The best (most voted) contributions will manually be added to the game to serve as not only a tech demo, but as a fun experience for everyone.

If you have any ideas for other contributions, please feel free to speak your mind. Please be civil and respectful to other people's thoughts on Nexus Variations.

All recent drama aside, here are the 3 Nexus core principles:

    1. Never set a boundary on enjoyment. To do so is an act of terrorism.
    2. Justice, backed with truth, shall never be opposed.
    3. It is not a lack of law and authority that causes anarchy and strife, but a lack of truth and discipline.

Violating any of these laws will fine you 20,000 Nex per broken law.

    Wait, fines? Let's talk taxes.

Yes, you CAN be fined Nex. The taxes we collect from those fines will be used by the Nexian Council to pay developers in the attempt to motivate them.

If you have any questions about the Nexus, feel free to ask!

This sounds fine and well thought out. Just one question though; will there be an exchange where I can trade Nex for DogeCoins?

Maybe. If a community member would work on a project like that, then maybe it would get more people involved in the main project.

    Nexus Law Violation #4.1

The benefits of unification must always remain self evident to those informed.
