Warning: we are brand new so forgive our ignorance here. My son (13) expressed interest in game development so we installed the free version of Unity on both my desktop Mac(10.6.8, 2x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core & 22 GB memory) and my Macbook Pro running Mavericks, which is newer and pretty fast. I am a video editor so both machines are decent on some level.

On both systems, we crash at the same point. We'll create a new project, insert a 3d object cube, then attempt to import package and vola! Crash. Doesn't matter what package we attempt to import.

Also, I noticed on the desktop that when I go to the menu Unity-->Preferences it crashes. Not sure about this on the MacBookPro as i don't have it with me currently.

Any suggestions to begin troubleshooting this. My son is pretty excited...

    Thanks!

    Cris & Milo

Mine used to crash like a loony whenever I didn't have an internet connection.
What package are you trying to import?
