New overall, but have a slight idea as to what I'm going for.
I know I should have probably read through the forum for threads that already existed, unfortunately my time is short and I have to get off the internet where I'm at.

    So to summarize.

I'm in the middle of taking my game idea from paper to progrom.

I'm calculating damage, health, mana, resistance, etc.

I want to create just a small game, where there will only be numbers and no graphics, just to make sure I have the coding right before I continue with anything else.

Any idea on where to start, and how to get started?
    Beginner tutorials? Youtube channels? Etc..?

Sorry have to go, feel free to PM me on here, email me at mdhud2014@gmail.com, or reply in this thread,
    Bye!

    -Matthew

You can always look at Unity's tutorials. They have some pretty decent ones. There are tons of youtube channels devoted to Unity and tons of documentation.

When you say only numbers, it just sounds like you want to feed a bunch of info to text fields, so I guess that is where you should start. Otherwise, all you can do is dive right in.

If you have access. Lynda.com has some decent videos as well.

I can personally recommend "speedtutor" on youtube.

Thank you kindly. I apologize for my speedy post, normally it's outside my preferred forum behavior, but I was in a rush and slightly in an irritated mood.
Excuses aside, thank you for your advice. Yes I'm just trying to get everything to function appropriately in a test bed before I blow things up and make it into a digital rough draft version of my swirling ideas.
My main focus is to test all data aspects of the character stats, NPC enemy stats, and any equipment or item stat increases added to those numbers. Trying to smooth out my spiral notebooks of ideas into a balanced gameplay.
I have a little more time this weekend, I'll hit up speedtutor on youtube, and check into the Unity tutorials as well. Thank you.

Considering the kind of game you want I recommend looking into inheritance. It should save you a lot of time should you wish to take it further.
