New Real-Time Lighting Approach

    It's quite interesting..

    "The new technique accurately simulates indirect lighting using a small number of “radiance probes.” The approach is said to effectively operate in real-time on 3D scenes, at the level of complexity seen in current game scenes."

    Yeah I saw their paper.
    Awesome work really!

    By the way you forgot to mention is that is has a intense pre-computation step that takes many hours.

    edit: also obviously won't work with dynamic geometry!

    Well,It's an important attempt ... which, hopefully, is going in the right direction! We'll see..

    Enlighten in Unity does just fine for me (and it's practically free performance wise)

    I think the term "realtime" is kind of misleading, if it needs a hour-long precomputation step...

    Yeah, from its title I thought it would be similar to VXGI and the like.
