Hi, the system for terrain wide fluids uses the Unity terrain heightmap currently, so is not workable in any mesh, but since the system was developed with a general heightmap possibility, this feature is planned to come later by rendering the terrain top - down and provide that as heightmap.

The performance is very fast even for big terrains, and can regulate the effect to use a lower resolution than the terrain as well.
