    @lfrog

    I'm not sure about the buses (i'll have to look this up) and as clock rates overlap for some cpus, there seem to be three sorts of Core 2 Duos around and you can never trust Apple i was wondering.

    Eh? If Apple were trying to deceive you, you don't think it would be to give you a better processor, do you?

    The chances of this chip being Conroe are very small if you consider the reports and that they would have had to build a new logic board for the machine to use it.

    It comes down to:

    Core 2 Duo T5600 (2MB, 1.83 GHz, FSB667, 167 Mill. Transistoren, 111 mm², 65nm)
    Core 2 Duo T7200 (4MB, 2.0 GHz, FSB667, 291 Mill. Transistoren, 143 mm², 65nm)
    Core 2 Duo T7400 ((4MB, 2.16 GHz, FSB667, 291 Mill. Transistoren, 143 mm², 65nm)
    Core 2 Duo T7600 ((4MB, 2.33 GHz, FSB667, 291 Mill. Transistoren, 143 mm², 65nm)

    All Meroms (the 5000er and the 7000er line) are defined with a T which defines a TDP of 25 to 55 Watt. Don't ask me how much heat each processor exactly produces as a) this depends on the situation and b) Intel's definition seems to be a bit vague on this. The tests i've seen go with roughly 35 Watt. Overall they are a little bit more greedy than the Yonah chips.
