    Hi Everyone,

I'm have now published Zone - Scion Edition and its available on the Asset Store for $10.00 Here:
    https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/52850

Zone, is a scene management tool that controls each and every aspect of Scion's parameters programmatically, based on predefined zones in your level, and provides smooth transitions from zone to zone. For example, you may have a situation where you need to adjust the White Balance of your tonemapping settings based on indoor or outdoor level design. Zone will provide ultra smooth transitions, and manage both entry and exit management.

I will be submitting the initial version to the Asset Store this weekend.

    Stay tuned for Updates.

What about night and day? I have some issues with Scion where I can't make both night and day look good. Either day is too dark or night is too light. Will something like this work with Zone? Can I set it up to work with the time of day asset?

Looks fabulous btw. :) I was using Scion today and thinking how great it looked.

Technically it could, as you would have control over the White Balance in the tonemapping settings.
However since this is zone controlled, the triggered events would be caused by the camera entering and exiting the specified zones not by time, so I'm not sure how to best approach that for day and night based scripts.

Okay, thanks. I might have to turn off some of the features at night, which probably would be fine anyway.

If you have the ability to know when Day/Night changes, you could just enable/disable world size Scion Zones.

I do with Time of Day asset. I can probably use a script to disable the zones at night. Not like you can see that much anyway. :) Thank you!

I think this does bring up a good point though. Any chance Zone can have two setups, one for day and one for night? Wonder if some type of function could be done to fade between the settings of the two based on time? That way regardless of what day/night cycle we are using, we could call do some type of script to access the time from our day/night asset and let it do a gradual switch.

Not sure what of that is possible. Just thinking out loud. heheh

I think its possible in the future :)

    Spoiler Alert...
I'm making a more generic Zone management tool called "Zone", which will work with many different types of systems.
However, this one is written specifically for Scion :)

That sounds very nice! A zone management tool is something that is missing in the asset store, or I haven't seen one yet. :)

I have seen some stuff out there that eludes to it, but none that do it generically. Thats the challenge at least.
I have to make it in such a way that other developers can call an API I can publish, to register their components and properties in "Zone" in the editor so you can configure them.

    Good news everyone:
    1) Zone Scion Edition has been approved and is now generally available to the public on the Asset Store at:
    https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/52850
If you are a Scion user, and would like to legit test this out, I have some vouchers I can give out.

    2) I have made tremendous strides in my generic Zone management tool and will be looking to publish it within the next week.

I would like to test this as well, it would be great for use inside random dungeun generators.

I have another Idea as well, if involving certain enemies.

Thanks, I'll test and write a review.

I'll post the ideas I had here as I see how they play out.

Can test also if any more testers required, especially interested in scion's bloom with day and night zones.

@JohnRossitter, had some free time today to test Zone. It works like a magic! But I noticed several small things:
    1. When you rotate cave prefab, marked red zone in editor is not rotating.
    2. Grain - after leaving zone grain is not turned off and stays on zone level
    3. In case of TPS, Third person character should trigger changes, not camera.

    Thanks for the feedback.

When you say you rotate the cave prefab...do you mean the geometry in the level? If so, that is likely because the zone is not a child of those prefabs.

I will double check what is going on with the Grain issue, thanks for pointing that out.

Yes, I suppose you are correct here. I will look into making it so you can select the collision source instead of assuming the main camera.

Thanks again for the testing, I'm glad you liked it overall

Noticed another thing. I dynamically change Color Correction Blend Factor from a script, based on time of day.
It seems your master controller interferes with that even when not in any zone, I assume it tries to restore blend factor saved on start?
Yes, because my cave is not aligned by Y axis, I have rotated ScionZone_Simple_Cave prefab by Y to align it with cave. Collider rotated, but not red marker.

Yes, when you exit a zone, it attempts to put all of the settings back to what they were when the scene started.
Try making the zone a child game object of the prefab instance in the hierarchy, it should rotate with it then.
