Hopefully this is a sign that Google are finally getting off their butts with Android.

Does anyone know if this means that (1) Paid apps will be available on the stores in these countries, AND (2) That developers in these countries will be able to published paid apps? Do the two go hand in hand, or could we get (1) without (2)?

Currently in Australia we aren't able to charge for Android apps (and therefore most of us won't develop for the platform). I'm hoping we might be in the 14 and this will change.

Right, you could get (1) without (2).
Thats already the case right now.

I'm not really looking forward to this.
Its already S*** annoying to have stuff in USD, EUR and YEN, getting additional currencies on the market will definitely not make it easier.

No idea why Google not just uses USD everywhere, after all all goes through Google checkout.
