Unity 2019.3 introduced this new field, but it overlaps the responsibilities of
GraphicsSettings.renderPipelineAsset. We set the render pipeline at run time, does it mean that we have now to change them both? What happens if I don't sent the QualitySettings one? Please explain.

No clue at all. I would prefer that Unity keeps its SRP settings on the assets the SRP's require. It seems to me entirely redundant to have it spread all over.

Unity in general seems like this, bits all over the place.

it should be in the api docs :(

GraphicsSettings SRP - The default SRP for use.
QualitySettings SRP- The override per quality setting.

Basically it will attempt to use the srp at the quality setting, if none is set it will fallback to the graphics settings one.

It sounds like you want to hit up this API and just ignore the quality settings overrides for what you are doing. https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/Rendering.GraphicsSettings-defaultRenderPipeline.html

Cheers, I wondered why as well.

Though I still question if what Unity staff experience is the same as users. I think there's a gulf and more docs also means being able to find those more docs.
